Safe Landing

We all landed safely at 6am this morning (2pm EST) ... 24 hours after take-off.  The flight was good ... ate and slept and ate and watched movies and ate and... you get the picture.

Abraham and friends were here to collect us, with a couple of remarkable drivers who safely navigated us through the Nairobi traffic.  People are very polite, but they just push into the spot they need, and 'push in' is not regarded as rude.  We have spent hours sitting in this crazy traffic that for some unknown reason seems to work without incident.  Not only were there cars and trucks all over the roads, but pedestrians also use the same unwritten rules and wander across the busiest street without incident (somehow).  At the same time hawkers are walking up the centre line of the street with traffic both sides, selling everything except the kitchen sink ... and I'm sure you would find one of those if you needed one!

We have checked into the guest house and it is quite luxurious.  We will welcome our beds tonight.  We were able to obtain our visa's for South Sudan today ... a story to be told when we get home.  We have not made it to Sarah's house yet, though dinner is waiting for us tonight.
